Joe Laughlin founded J7 Sports in 1975 after graduating from Lake Brantley High School. He continued on to his AA degree from Seminole Community College in '79 and his BA Education degree from UCF in '82. His unique liberal arts teaching style of using all subjects to understand science led to being named a Seminole County Teacher of the Year Finalist. He was named a NASA NEWMAST Teacher of the Year in 1990, was Lyman High School Teacher of the Year in 1992, and was a candidate for Seminole County School Board in 1998 and 2006. He was also a Space Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment Participant from 1989 - 1992.

Track & Field experience has led to "Sports Announcer of the Year" honors from local media, Golden South Track Hall of Fame for age group meet management, and FHSAA official for various State Championships in Cross Country and Track & Field. 

For the last 51 years Joe has been a long distance runner, track official, track meet announcer,  race timer, cross country & track coach, and a very involved husband and father. In his personal journey, he has been a devout Christian for over 40 years and still occasionally speaks on Science and Scripture. He loves to challenge people's thinking when it comes to "following The Science". Are you talking about what has come from man or God? Both greatly effect us!

Joe is happily married to Michele and is enjoying his blended family which includes 6 daughters!
